SEO is stands for Search Engine Optimization.Optimizing a site meaning helping Search Engine to get the searcher's perfect result which S/He is looking for.

you asked : How many types of SEO?Technically there are only 2 type of technique is uesed to get top SERP rank that are
1> White Hat SEO
2> Black Hat SEO
Combining this two there are few more techniques like gray hat,pink hat etc.

I would recommend you to focus only on White Hat Technique

In every case, Good and Evil are competitor of each other. Most of the time Evil thing get success earlier and quickly but never last long.....The Long lasting winner is Good Thing.

Think White and Black hat in this way. You will surly gonna choose white hat SEO and you must have to have some knowledge with other techniques. But Not For Implementing Just to be away to having any mistake .

But its not the right time to learn the Blackhat technique at the begging of SEO Learning.So Stick with Whith Hat Technique avoid cheating Search Engine.
