Intellect and humor are of equal value to physical beauty though in my opinion. Since perceived beauty is a large part of attraction which eventually metamorphosizes into of full out love (in the happily ever after scenario) it is essential in a long term relationship. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder there really is no harm in looking for a partner that is pleasurable to look at...everyone likes a whole bunch of different things so variety of the definition of beauty is bound to be widely defined and those differences in beauty will be sought after by those who are attracted to whatever it is that strikes them as beautiful.

A relative thought: part of the reason people who are married who were high school sweethearts stay together in such long term and healthy relationships is that they have their significant others youthful impression imprinted in their memories and therefor are more apt to render them as their own measuring stick of beauty.

All that stuff aside...I can say that opportunity as a factor has changed my own measuring stick of beauty...sanity is a most beautiful thing...now if I could only be attracted to a sane women and live happily ever after

I can't help you there but I can understand, money tends to be a very large factor in the choosing of a mate, in some cultures a standard actually. You need to ask yourself if you want to start your own family and if you can safely support it, if you didn't answer yes to both parts of that i am willing to bet that your problem is not with a mate it is with establishing a solid source of regular income......

I don't even want to think of the prospects that someone who 'knows who I would be perfect (or look cute) with' would come up with, let alone my parents...my mother would find the woman most likely to harass me constantly about trivial things while making me miserable and my father would be smart enough to stay out of it leaving me with two women that say they love me while beating me over the head with a proverbial club... lol
