Live Seo Experiment - Starts 1st March 2013
Hi all !We were planning this experiment for quite some time and are about to get started with it. We thought it would be great if we can share it with fellow DPins and all other people, who are new to online promotion and SEO or are interested in it, so that we can get mutually benefited.
To make things clear, we are not SEO gurus in anyways. We are a group of enthusiasts, who like to explore and learn and this experiment is the result of the same. We would like to share all that we have learned till now about online marketing and SEO and it would be great to get feedback and any other creative input from anyone who is interested in it.
Here are the briefs of the experiment:
Targets:
1. To create a brand new website and then drive targeted traffic to it and gradually try to achieve (and thereafter maintain) and Alexa on or about 100 K within 6 months.
2. To create a brand new website and the gradually monetize it to make near or about $ 2 k/ month on a regular basis (within 6 months )
3. To share online promotion and SEO ideas with enthusiasts like us and get mutually benefited by it.
Duration : 6 months (appx.)
We will also make some video tutorials so that a newbie can learn online promotion and SEO from scratch. If someone wants, he/she can also do a parallel experiment with us on his own site.
Here is the list of video tutorials that we will work on:
1. Selecting a niche and setting up targets.
2. Registering a domain
3. Setting up hosting on a domain
4. Setting up a website and tips on a SEO friendly website.
5. Adding content on site & importance of quality content.
6. Initial SEO and an introduction to SEO tools.
7. Tracking the traffic through Google analytic.
8. How to monetize a site - ways of earning though a site.
9. Ways of promoting a site part 1 - link building (forums, blogs, bum marketing etc)
10. Ways of promoting a site part 2 - social networking - FB, Twitter, Linked In etc)
11. Ways of promoting a site part 3 - Video Marketing.
12. Ways of promoting a site part 4 - Building a brand of a product or a service.
13. Ways of promoting a site part 5 - How to attain top 10 ranking for a keyword on Google.
14. Monetizing a website
15. Tracking the results and improvising accordingly.
