Old Consoles vs New Consoles

The new games are beautiful.
The storylines and the gameplay for them are also crisp and well thought out for most games as well
(ok yea, there are a ton of copy cats and bland ones too but lets focus on the good stuff)

However, what the retro consoles have is this: they were bloody groundbreaking!

New genres were created , and holy crap the games were difficult- contra anyone?
