Rand Paul: Ashley Judd 'Doesn't Really Represent Kentucky' (VIDEO)

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told CNN on Sunday that Hollywood actress and Democratic activist Ashley Judd "doesn't really represent Kentucky."

"When I heard Ashely Judd might run for office, I thought it was Parliament because she lives in Scotland half of the year," Paul told CNN's Candy Crowley.

In a bit of back-handed praise, Paul then said, "Ashley Judd is a famous actress, she's an attractive woman, and presents herself well and from what I understand is articulate."

Paul's dismissal of Judd came after he was asked whether he knew if Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had any Tea Party challengers coming forward. Upon review of an ad put forth by Karl Rove's American Crossroads, Paul pointed out that Judd "was a representative for Tennesee last year. She lives in Tennessee."

"So, yeah, I think you do need to make sure people know about that," Paul continued. "So people don't think she's really from Kentucky or lives here."

Judd is reportedly considering a bid for office in 2014 or 2016, but has not made an official announcement about a potential candidacy. If Judd pursued the Senate seat in 2016, she would be running against Paul.

It's not the first time Paul has spoken out on Judd's viability as a candidate. In December, Paul told radio station WMAL that Judd was "way damn too liberal for our country, for our state."

"She hates our biggest industry, which is coal. I say, good luck bringing the 'I hate coal' message to Kentucky," he said.
