Help - PHP MySQL Multiple Decision Making System?

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum (Long time reader, first time poster!)

I'm working on a system that sends sales leads to the correct person based on a number of conditions.

At present, a sales lead will come into a MySQL table called "Leads" with all of the customers information and the column name of Status is set to "New".

Sales reps then have access to a very basic report that allows them to view the leads based on the Status (e.g. New to view all the leads that are new and haven't been allocated).

What I want to happen:

Lead comes into the MySQL table as "New" as it does currently now.

The system will automatically make a decision where to place the lead based on what information the customer submitted (e.g. The product the customer is interested in/the loan amount the customer has applied for (if the product is set to loan), if its a weekday or weekend etc etc). Basically wanting something that can be changed easily without having to heavily edit the PHP code.

Do you know of something that's opensource that I could use to do this or a tutorial on where to start? Or even what i'd need to start with?

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Continuing my series on Promoting Minority Advancement, I want to share how employees can influence decision makers and company leadership to promote diversity practices. Regardless of where you fall in the organizational hierarchy, you have the ability to demonstrate leadership within your company.

Understand the political climate and organization culture of your company -- Who sits on the firm's Diversity Taskforce? How many degrees of separation exist between you and these individuals? Is the timing appropriate for a discussion on the firm's current practices? Knowing who to speak with, when to approach the individual and how to address the subject of minority advancement will make a huge difference in the response you receive.

Participate in the Diversity and Inclusion practices that already exist in your workplace -- You need to be more than just knowledgeable about existing programs; by participating directly, you can assess the program and identify what works and what does not. For example, if your firm has a mentorship or sponsorship program but no Latino leaders are participating, you can highlight the limitations of the existing program from your perspective and experience as a Latino employee. By citing your personal experiences (both positive and negative) with the company's existing programs you will add to the impact and credibility of your perspective.

Work towards improving your company's ROI on Diversity and Inclusion practices -- Demonstrating a return on investment is one of the four focus areas present in effective workplace environments supportive of promoting minorities. Companies routinely measure whether their diversity efforts are increasing revenue and the bottom line. If you work in a role that brings in revenue for your company, participate in the firm's diversity programs and are great at your job, you are an example that the company's investment in these programs is well served.

Be prepared to present your ideas -- If you are successful in getting a meeting with one of the company's Diversity and Inclusion decision makers, there is going to be an expectation that you are coming to the table with ideas and recommendations. Your ideas should be scalable, well thought out and executable. If an investment is required, you should have a plan for where the resources will come from or demonstrate how the company can see a return on their investment.

Get involved in external diversity organizations -- Direct involvement in organizations like ALPFA, NABA and Ascend will broaden your understanding and knowledge of diversity and inclusion issues. Getting involved in external organizations offers you an opportunity to hone your leadership abilities in a different setting and expand your professional skills. It also gives you access to a network of professionals, executives and speakers that could help your efforts to influence your company's leadership. You can serve as a liaison and perhaps relationship manager between your firm and the partner organization.
In the final installment of the series, we are going to look at what Diversity and Inclusion looks like in minority-owned companies. On first glance, it can appear that these companies would not need to invest or develop diversity programs, policies or practices. But, the reality is that diversity and inclusion are not limited to companies looking to recruit, hire and retain minority employees. Diversity and inclusion also impacts business development and supplier diversity practices. These areas are of particular interest to any company looking to remain competitive in today's global market.

Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair: Oscar Pistorius Bail Decision Coming Later On Friday

PRETORIA, South Africa -- The defense and prosecution both completed their arguments Friday in Oscar Pistorius' bail hearing, with the magistrate soon to rule if the double-amputee athlete can be freed before trial or if he must stay behind bars pending trial in the shooting death of his girlfriend.

The prosecution vehemently opposed bail to Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair.

Pistorius is charged with one count of premediated murder over the Feb. 14 killing of Reeva Steenkamp. He says he accidentally shot her, thinking she was a dangerous intruder inside his home, lurking in a toilet stall off his bedroom.

Pistorius' hands trembled as he said "good morning, your worship" as the session began in Magistrate's Court in Pretoria, South Africa's capital. For the first time in the hearing, two representatives of the Steenkamp family were present in court, sitting behind and to the left of Pistorius in the public gallery.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel called Pistorius' version that he shot Steenkamp accidentally improbable and argued that Pistorius did not have to have planned the killing for days in advance for it to be premediated.

"He planned it that night when she (Steenkamp) locked herself in (the toilet)," Nel said in response to a question from the magistrate on why Pistorius hadn't staged a break-in at his home to make his story look more believable. "The fact that we have only one survivor of that tragic night is difficult for the state."

Pistorius' defense lawyer, Barry Roux, brought up culpable homicide as a possible charge for the first time in the case when answering questions from the magistrate.

"He did not want to kill Reeva. He had no intent to kill Reeva," Roux said as Pistorius began weeping again - like he has done for much of his bail hearing.

Roux said it was impossible for Pistorius, as famous as he is and with his prostheses, to escape South Africa before trial.

"Let me tell you how difficult it is for this man to disappear from this world," Roux said.

Prosecutor Nel earlier countered that everyone, whether disabled or famous or otherwise different from the majority, should be treated equally under the law. Nel noted that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is famous but is now holed up in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden to face sex-related charges.

Pistorius' longtime coach Ampie Louw had said before proceedings began that he is considering putting his runner back in training if he is granted bail to allow him to "get his mind kind of clear."

Louw said he realizes that the Olympic athlete might not be emotionally ready to give any thought to running.

"The change is that he is heartbroken, that is all," Louw said in the courtroom, surrounded by reporters and television cameras. "For me it is tough to see that. Not to be able to reach out and sit next to him and say `Sorry, man, it was a terrible accident.' But I cannot do it, I must just sit here in court and that's all.

"The sooner he can start working the better." said Louw, who was the person who convinced the double amputee to take up track as a teenager a decade ago.

Nair will decide if Pistorius can be freed with conditions or if he is held until trial. Pistorius faces the sternest bail conditions in South Africa because of the seriousness of the murder charge, meaning his defense lawyers have to prove there is an "exceptional" reason for him to be freed.

He has been held at a police station in Pretoria since last week, but suspects who are denied bail are typically held in a prison.

Roux argued on Thursday that the evidence backs Pistorius' statement that he shot through a toilet door at his home because he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder, killing her by accident.

"I think there will be a level of shock in this country if he is not released (on bail)," Roux said in court.

Opposing bail, Nel argued that Pistorius was too willing to shoot. The prosecution says Pistorius planned to kill his 29-year-old girlfriend, a model and budding reality TV star, after an argument in the early hours of Valentine's Day.

"The reason you fire four shots is to kill," Nel said.

Louw said he might put Pistorius - who overcame the amputation of his lower legs as a baby to compete at last year's London Olympics - back on a morning and afternoon training routine if he is freed, believing it might help him to be able to run track again.

"You must give him space," the coach said.

'The Vampire Diaries': Klaus Makes A Big Decision, Ian Somerhalder Talks Cure And More

On this week's installment of "The Vampire Diaries," Klaus is still trying to stop Kol, Damon is still locked up in the Salvatore mansion (trying not to kill Jeremy) and could there be feelings between Stefan and Rebekah despite their "no feelings, no attachments" deal?

When Rebekah (Claire Holt) turns down Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) plea to stop Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and protect Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Klaus turns to Stefan (Paul Wesley) for help. After an angry confrontation with her father, Mayor Hopkins (guest star Rick Worthy), over his unconventional approach to ending the violence in Mystic Falls, Bonnie (Kat Graham) has a frightening run-in with Kol, followed by an unexpected visitor. Klaus complicates the already tense feelings between Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) by revealing a bit of Stefan's personal life, then surprises Damon by asking for personal advice. Elena (Nina Dobrev) tells Stefan about her dangerous plan for Jeremy, leaving Stefan in a difficult spot. When the high school's 1980s Decade Dance is cancelled by Mayor Hopkins, Stefan finds a charming way to make it up to a disappointed Rebekah.

Graham told TV Guide that Bonnie's "frightening run-in" with Kol is "honestly one of the most scenes I've had ... since I don't know when." According to Graham, "Kol is going to play a big part in a decision that Klaus is going to make and it affects everyone."

As for Damon -- who was last seen trapped in the Salvatore house, drained of most of his blood -- Somerhalder told EW, "It’s getting to a point now where only living for Elena’s well-being and getting this cure is starting to take a serious toll, and it’s starting to become not the healthiest thing in the world.”

Apparently, his desire to get the cure solely because Elena wants it may not be enough anymore. "This whole cure crap, Damon's thinking to himself, 'Why on earth would I partake in the cure that's essentially going to make me a normal human being and susceptible to everything. I'm having a blast!' Also, why would he want Elena to have this thing? It makes no sense to him," Somerhalder told The Hollywood Reporter. "Anything dealing with Stefan and Damon, that's going to be playing in the background at all times. Damon wants her to stay this way; they could live happily ever after, truly."

But, sadly for Delena fans, it doesn't look like it's going to be "happily ever after." Somerhalder also said that getting the cure could lead Elena to "go back to feeling this way for Stefan," according to TVLine. Somerhalder hinted things are about to get explosive for his character on "The Vampire Diaries." "There’s something big in the cards for Damon soon," he told TVLine.
