If you ask me, Microsoft will now take over the computing world. Without Steve Jobs, Apple is nothing.A clear indication of this is the constant decline in their share price. It was around $ 700 last year. Now it's at just $ 440.
R.I.P. Steve.
R.I.P. Apple.

Oracle or microsoft: which database is better?
Oracle wasn't sold. They acquired SUN which should significantly bolster the potential advancements in the products and platform they offer. It still leaves a bit of a gray area for the future of MySQL but all is well for the time being. As to answer the question above, it may just come down to money. It's generally accepted that businesses migrate to MSSQL or Oracle once they outgrow the cheaper or free solutions available. MySQL can scale very well, but comes up far short on many of the more advanced tasks that MSSQL and Oracle support. On a straight feature level comparison, Oracle is unbeatable. Luckily, 99% of us will never need to use those very advanced features. MSSQL is a great database that supports replication very well, and can scale very large. The downside of both Oracle and MSSQL is the cost. You easily get into the $200,000+ costs just for initial licensing when you need to scale to enterprise levels. MSSQL is about 1/2 the cost of Oracle once you reach a certain point, but is still in the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars for licensing.
I always recommend using MySQL or PostGre and push it to the limits. Realistically, they can both scale to the needs of 95% of businesses out there. For MySQL, especially when using the Percona, or Google distributions and patches. You may need to drop $50,000 in hardware, but you would be spending the same amount regardless of the database software if you need to get to that level. If it isn't justified, there's no reason to spend a quarter million on software when there's something free that may be able to do the same thing.

Service of Microsoft Access Expert
I don't want to be a stick in the mud or anything but, don't you think you should learn that stuff instead of asking folks to do your homework. Its not that complicated.Anyone over the age of 30 with a shred of Karma knows this does you no good at all.
Edit. and sorry was not trying to derail things. I would not want to worry about fsking ms access either.

What Happen To Microsoft When Bill Gates Die ?
A few people mention his son taking over, but I do not think that was the case. There was a talk with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, and the topic of inheritance came up. The general idea was that those two felt an obligation to give back to the world, and that their children should found their own lives, too. One line ran in the same vein as: "I should not be lucky to have chosen the right womb and not have to work a day in my life".
So I think Bill Gates will definitely make sure his children are taken care of, I think he is smart enough to make them work hard and learn on their own in these regards. I do not imagine a legacy of the family name, unless they work hard at it as their parents did.
As for what will become of the company, it has already been stated that Gates has been hands off for a while. I worry more about what would happen to the charities and scientific research he's helped fund; but I believe his wife will help continue that on, too.

Can I Use Microsoft Office Clip Art and Stock Images Elsewhere?
The royalty-free stock photos and clip art images included in Microsoft Office can be used in commercial project but cannot be sold as standalone products.
One of the nice benefits of having Microsoft Office is that you get access to tons of royalty-free stock photographs, illustrations, animations and clip art to enhance your Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.
These images can be accessed directly from any of the Microsoft Office programs or you may download them online from the Microsoft Office website at office.com.
An oft-asked question is can you use these photos and clip art files outside Microsoft Office for a commercial or non-commercial project?
For instance, would it be legal to use the Office images on a public web page – say for the purpose of illustrating a blog post? Can you modify or annotate an image found on Office.com? Or can you use them in a printed technical manual or as the cover image of an ebook?
The Microsoft Office license agreement and the services agreement include details around legitimate usage:
You may not (i) sell, license, or distribute copies of the media elements by themselves or as a product if the primary value of the product is the media elements; (ii) grant your customers rights to further license or distribute the media elements; (iii) license or distribute for commercial purposes media elements that include the representation of identifiable individuals, governments, logos, trademarks, or emblems or use these types of images in ways that could imply an endorsement or association with your product, entity or activity; or (iv) create obscene works using the media elements.
The support site for Microsoft Office uses the phrase “unrestricted usage” and says that “you can use any image in the Office Clip Art and Media Library without restriction, except if the image becomes a product for sale.” The Clip Organizer manual requires that Microsoft Office users include a valid copyright notice on products that includes clip art and photos used from the Office Media library.
I am no legal expert but the language of these agreements does seem to indicate that you can use the Microsoft Office clip art and images for any purpose, including commercial projects, as long as you are not redistributing or reselling the clip art and image files as a stand-along product.
The online Office media gallery also sources images and clip art from external websites like iStockPhoto and Fotolia. The Office license may or may not cover the usage rights of these media files.

Surface Pro Release Date Set For Feb. 9 By Microsoft
REDMOND, Washington (AP) — Microsoft says that the pro version of its Surface tablet will be available to purchase Feb. 9 in the U.S. and Canada.
Unlike the previous version that launched in October, the "Surface Windows 8 Pro" will use the full version of Windows 8, which is compatible with programs that run on earlier versions of Windows.
The tablet will be priced starting at $899 for the model with 64 gigabytes of memory.
The price includes the Surface Pen, which allows users to write or draw on the device.
It does not include the Touch Cover keyboard, which sells separately for $120, or the Type Cover, which has depressible keys, for $130.
Microsoft hasn't released sales figures for the earlier version of Surface, which runs on Windows RT, a slimmed down version of the operating system.
RT only runs apps bought on the Windows store and a modified version of Office that Microsoft included with the device. The pro version of Surface does not come with Office installed.

Microsoft is expected to release a new version of Office, called Microsoft Office 2013 (or Office 15) early next year. The new Office, the release version of which is already available for download to MSDN and TechNet subscribers, sports a minimalist interface and, among other features, is very tightly integrated with SkyDrive.
If you aren’t an MSDN/Technet subscriber, you can still download and install Microsoft Office 2013 as long as your computer is running Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Option A: You can go to office.com/preview and download the full-featured edition of Office 2013 that includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Microsoft Access (no Visio here). You can install this version on up to 5 PCs using your Microsoft account.
This is actually Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Preview and what’s unique here is that you can get Office running on your computer within minutes of hitting the install button. This uses Microsoft’s Click-To-Run installation technology – you just have to download a 500KB installer and it “streams” the Microsoft Office applications to your computer.
The downside is that you have to install the entire Office package and second, this isn’t the final release of Office but a “preview” edition (version 15.0.4128.1025).
Option B: The other option is that you download the Microsoft Office 2013 installer from the Technet website (all you need is a Windows Live ID). Unlike the preview edition of Office, this one is the “final” Office Professional Plus 2013 release (version 15.0.4433.1506) that will continue to work for 60 days from the date of installation.
In order to install this version of Office, you’ll be required to download the full MSI installer (666 MB, OfficeProfessionalPlus_x86_en-us.img) but the advantage is that you can choose which Office programs should be installed on the computer.
Which Microsoft Office 2013 edition should I download?Microsoft Office 2013 Pro is available as a 60-day trial while there’s no exact expiry date fixed for Office 365 Preview. Microsoft says that Office Preview will expire approximately 60 days after Office 2013 becomes available in that market. You will thus have more time to play with Office 2013 with the preview release.
Office 365 Preview can be installed alongside an older copy of Microsoft Office whereas in the case of Office 2013 Professional, it will override your existing installation.
One more thing. The Office 2013 preview release streams very quickly (click to run) and you don’t even have to be an administrator of your computer to install it. That’s not the case with Office 2013 Pro.
Microsoft hasn’t specified an exact release date for Microsoft Office 2013 but if you buy a licence of Microsoft Office 2010 now, you will get a free upgrade to Office 2013.
