Colors: lighter shades of blue (nothing dark like royal or navy), light gray. I'm not opposed to other colors but if you need a basis those are great.

I'm in need of a logo for a new website I've started at http://thepepp.com/

Here's all the details:

The slogan for the site is "Add Some Flavor To Your Life"

It's a site that brings you the best, and most interesting/quirky info on the internet. You can see a couple example posts on the site now.

"ThePepp" is named after the spice black pepper, which is added to food to give it flavor.

I envision the text "ThePepp" with a pepper shaker above it shaking pepper on the letters. Please be creative. I like that idea, but if you can think of a better design please showcase it!

I don't have any requirements on color. Please use what you feel looks best, but keep in mind pepper is usually black/brownish.

The site's audience will be both male/female between the ages of 22 - 45.

I'm having difficulties understanding that state-of-the-art feel. Do you have some example of that? Is it going to be really complex? Or something really smooth. Is Mercedes Benz logo state-of-the-art? Or Bentley? Or Gucci?

We can figure that out ourselves, but if you provide us some examples or a little bit more detail maybe we can work out something closer.

I don't really get a "state of the art" feeling from any of the logos you mentioned. I think they want to stay away from the standard pharmacy logos like this:
I, personally, envision the incorporation of some other medical symbol. I like the following symbols but I don't want you to be restricted to these. These are just things I'm throwing out there as ideas.

I love these but I don't think the "green" eco-friendly, organic thing applies to this company.

You guys are the creative experts! I'm excited to see what you come up with!

As you can see from the website, the guesthouse is located at the foot of the mountains overlooking the sea. Since this is a guesthouse with a sea view, we want to ensure that we incorporate that theme into the logo. My friend has suggested the use of a seagull or seagulls and calm sea.
