I have seen this thread come by several times in the last few weeks. Are you having this much bad luck with writers or is there another reason you have to keep looking for writers? A little more info would also be nice, like a ballpark figure what you have in mind for those articles, how many do you need, etc..

Is 300-350 words article still effective since the change of Google Algorithm??

Google's changes primarily lessened the impact of article sites, rather than articles themselves, so I believe it all depends on where the text is being published and the authority/originality of the additional work on that domain.

From my own experience, posts and pages of 500 words or more do very well in Google, but because many in my specific field don't bother to write any original text, even content with 300 words can easily beat the competition.

Your competition is perhaps one of the primary factors. Even if Google wants lengthy articles about the price of spinach, if there are only three people writing about the price of spinach Google will have to make-do with what it can find - even if all three writers limit that content to 300 words.

As for what Melanie says about rambling on, my belief is that a good writer can make anything worthy of 500 words given the right format and style to work within. You should see some of the source material I have to deal with to create a 300 - 500 word post! But I manage it. In my case the intention is to sell a product, so there are a lot of tools I can use including fantasy and personal experience to make what would otherwise have been a 300 word scene description into a 500 word article.

Before you let someone publish your article on their site...

... be sure to check out their backlink profile. Why? Simply because otherwise you can get 1) penalized 2) banned from Google.

Most people are happy to receive a backlink from each and every site that accepts his article, however that's a big mistake. If you're using blog networks / guest post "communities" make sure that the site you're receiving your backlink from is legit. How to do that? Easy, just take a look at their link profile with MajesticSEO and/or Open Site Explorer (by SEOmoz) and/or ahrefs. Check out the anchor texts first, if you see anything out of ordinary (virus, drugs, pr0n and whatnot!) then walk away. Then check out randomly a couple of sites in that list. It's good if they have social media presence! Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, YouTube channels and so on. Do they seem spammy? Are they (possibly) part of a blog network? If yes, then again: walk away.

"Guest posting" is on the radar of Google's spam team. If you don't do it right, you can get hurt pretty badly!

[WTB] article writer for my blog

I'm looking to hire article writer for my blog for about a month (it may be extended further if things go fine). The selected person would write atleast 4 articles of 500 words each per day (mon-sat). I will be paying monthly salary of INR 4-5k (it can be paid weekly as well).
