Seeking Volunteers/Partners/Investors For a Consumer Forum

Hello,

We are planning to start a brand new international consumer forum from 1st May 2013. The aim of the forum will be to discuss issues related with consumers and vendors. We also plan to play a role of a mediator in disputes related to either party.

The forum will have sections like consumer review of products he has used, consumer complaints, arbitration forum, Scam alert etc. The main aim of the forum will be to spread awareness about products and services used across the globe.

As no forum can run w/o making profit, we plan commercialize the forum w/o compromising on the ethics. We plan to generate revenue primarily from sponsored section, which will showcase new products/services. Ad revenue programs like adsense would also be considered once the forum makes a name for itself on Internet. It will take around 6 months of quality content creation and portion to establish such a forum so that it can then be commercialized.

We will take care of domain and hosting expenses. We have a team, which can promote the forum as well. We are looking for:
Volunteers (who contribute in forum posting and share their experience of a product that they have used)
Partners (who take care of management/technical development of the forum)
Investors (who can cover the cost of running such a forum till it starts making profit)

Profit will be shared equally among partners. Expected investment in content creation and promotion of forum is $ 200-250 p.m.

Beware of the Alboraaq.com forum. All the admins are scammers, and are really good at lying people. I almost falled in their lies, and I almost lost $400. They offer cheap services, and products, but they don't offer anything in reality. They just steal your money, change your username's password, and comment positive things on their forum using your account.

I just wanted to warn you. I am sorry if this is not the right place.

starting a forum

Assuming you are not able to do your own content, design, marketing, etc...
then you probably could get a decent start for about $1000 - in todays market,
even I have no fantasies that it may take some time to get off the ground...

1: You need very good design.
2: You need a solid brandable domain.
3: Start on your content.
4: Obtain quality backlinks.
5: Find those gem loyal members that
maybe even willing to help you out...

If you end up setting up something good, then they will find you.....
Being honest, it may take you a good amount of time to get off the ground,
but if you do not give up, and continue to improve your site, then it is possible...

To be honest unless you are able to create something that is fresh and new its highly unlikely that it will be very successful. With sites such as GFY and other well known adult forums most regs tend to stay put. If you choose to create a forum you will need to create something that offers members an incentive to come there. If you had an active forum with booming buy/sell, marketing techniques and lots of convo then you would have a fighting chance.

Looking for forum posters (Anime/Hentai) Niche

Need Advise on Forum Posting

My favorite way to get quick, fast SEO done and get some good framework for my site is by article & video marketing. I'm not that good at ranking videos, but just having one and letting it sit there gives it link juice because you have a link to your website on a high authority site that google trusts (YouTube).

You also write 3 articles based around one keyword with 15k-75k monthly searches. Stick to lower with medium competition if you're newer, or you can go higher with high competition if you're a little more seasoned. Focus on one keyword every 2 weeks.

I do almost everything manually myself, and after I see it be successful in a certain niche I start building up Tier 3 links.

Once you've gone through at lesat your first two weeks focusing on a medium competition keyword with as close to 30k searches as possible, start collecting a list of forums and make sure you organize them. I prefer to use a multi-columned excel sheet.

In Column 1, I list the name of the Forum
In Column 2, I list the PR of the Forum
In Column 3, I list the URL of the Forum

Then, I have a separate documents for EACH forum. In this document I list it as so:

Title Of Post I've Made | Link To The Post | # Of Posts Thread Has | # Of Uniques From Post | Date

I make it so I can sort any of the columns, so I can specifically sort by highest number of uniques a post generated. Then I check to see what elements are in my post -- was it controversial? Was it funny? Did something about it go viral? etc. etc. so I can continue to repeat the same technique.

When forums consistently perform at less than 50% of the average, I stop posting there because it's personally not worth my time. However, it could possibly be worth it to outsource posting to other employees and delegate the responsibility.

Generally, my best performing forum posts in every niche I can think of have been posts to current news events. The more controversial the better, but just general stats and info works as well.

What Does Everyone Think Of The New Digital Point Forum?

Yeah, I'm curious to see the overall feedback and long-term success with the new platform. While I don't "love" losing my itrader history which I had built over half a decade, I do think more limitations to the Marketplace for more verified members or those who wish to take the time to become an active member, is better. It helps the overall SPAM of the forum and keeps the quality level up.

One other aspect I noted but wasn't sure was accurate, was the flag assigned to my name? Is that only in the profile so far? But I do like that, proves my location and have had issues in the past where I hired someone who was from "New York" but turned out to be from overseas.

I'm also curious to see how the trophy points system works out and whether or not it is sufficient for showing the establishment and longevity of a user on a forum. Overall, the new design is pretty smooth and I'll definitely agree with a few others that the old template was getting to be exactly that: old. Excited to see how DP can continue to evolve to better serve it's member's!
