How many warnings?

I will think about it.

Thanks for the advice.

It is better to read the rules first, to get familiarised with the forum first before posting anything.

Site valuation for SEO

That's a question that is difficult to answer. 'SEO' valuation generally refers to the value of a link on the given page to give another page better positioning in the SERPs.

A higher PR site will always help more. If the actual *page* (not another page on the same site) that you'll put the link on is high PR then the value for a link on that page goes up significantly.

The topic of the site and/or the page is also very relevant. If you've got a site about dog 'stuff' and you've got a client who wants to put a link on your 'dogtraining.htm' page who is selling boats - the PR of the page will help but the topic is off. If however somebody selling 'dog school' wants to put a link on your 'dogtraining.htm' page, the value is much higher.

Determining an actual 'price' is like any other market. The 'value' or the 'price' is whatever you can get somebody to consistently pay.

'Traffic' to your site is a whole nuther subject. In that case you've got traffic that is coming to your site that you're going to 'push' to your client's site.
The best way I know to determine 'valuation' for that kind of page is to find comparisons as close as you can to it in google's adsense ads. How much are they paying for a click to an ad on a page like yours. You can also check AdWords CPC to help 'guesstimate' the value of a link on your page.

4 Ways to Ruin Guest Posting by Turning it into Spam

Undoubtedly, guest blogging is a favored strategy for those looking to acquire links from top quality niche sites. Prominent blog owners are usually inundated with emails asking whether they accept guest articles. Since guest blogging or guest posting is a popular means for self and blog promotion, Google is keeping a close eye on how blog owners and authors If operate with their posts. While guest posting is beneficial and powerful as the site owner receives fresh content while the guest blogger receives a link, it comes with its own set of pitfalls.

If you aren’t too familiar with guest posting and the key principles behind how to operate, it’s easy to make mistakes. In fact, you could easily become a spammer if your guest articles are poorly constructed.

Here are four ways which can turn your guest posting efforts into spam which not only harms your online reputation, but also your business.

#1. Crank Out Guest Posts (One After Another)

The first and foremost point of guest posting or guest blogging is that it isn’t another form of article marketing. When you are either invited or accepted to do a guest blog post, you are expected to bring something of value to the table.

No blog owner wants to see recycled, poorly constructed content which adds zero value to their audience being  sent for review. There are a number of ‘would be bloggers’ who mass produce low quality articles and class them as guest posts with the view of pumping them out to as many blog owners as they can in the hope someone will accept.

This is when guest blogging starts to become spam. If you want to make the most of your  opportunity (and so you should), you should take the time to study the site owner’s blog, the type of audience they receive by reading through their comments and of course, the niche they are focused in.

The true weight of anchor text on SEO results has diminished since our favorite animal updates late last year. Google reduced the relevance of anchor text because it was being heavily manipulated by a number of online marketers. Yes, on the back of Google’s Panda and Penguin updates, you need to maintain a variety of anchor text links. If you draw your attention entirely on money keywords and manipulate the anchor text through guest posting, you are a perpetrator of spam activity which is damaging to your site’s health.  I don’t need to remind  you about this, the results will show in due course (and they won’t be good).

When guest blogging , choose and use anchor text in a way that looks natural to Google and the other search engines.

This one drives me crazy, even when operating my personal blog – I receive countless guest posting requests from individuals who don’t have established author accounts set up. In fact, some lazy guest bloggers set up fake Google+ accounts for the primary hope of being accepted as a guest blogger.

Guest posting is not child’s play – it’s for real authors who are looking to establish a personal brand for themselves. If you want to maximize the benefits of guest posting, why not establish yourself as a real author and try to set up your personal social media profiles in the process.  8/10 times I personally turn down guest posting requests if the author doesn’t have an active Google+ account – social proof is too important in today’s world.

Are you familiar with the concept of AuthorRank?

#4. Buy Social Shares

Last but certainly not least, another infamous method of turning guest posting into spam can result off the back of purchasing hundreds of social shares for your guest articles. If your guest post truly adds value, there is no need to purchase fake social shares – the blog’s audience will share the article openly! Instead of consuming your energy on guest posting strategies to manipulate the fame of your poorly constructed guest post, why not divert your attention to writing a top quality guest post which will naturally be a success with this new audience you otherwise wouldn’t have reached.

Use your guest articles to provide real value to readers. In this way, you’ll showcase your knowledge in a particular niche and build your brand in the process. This can lead to further opportunities to guest post or potentially a situation where a reader employs your services – the opportunities are simply endless.

Tiina Intelmann: The United States and the ICC: Support From Outside of the Rome Statute System Matters

Get World Alerts: Sign Up

On April 3, 2013, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry published an article in this newspaper, explaining how the U.S. War Crimes Rewards Program had been expanded to offering up to $5 million for information that leads to the arrest, transfer or conviction of the top three leaders of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) -- Joseph Kony, Okot Odhiambo, and Dominic Ongwen, as well as the military commander of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), Sylvestre Mudacumura.

All four individuals are subject to arrest warrants by the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity. As Secretary of State Kerry highlighted, "Impunity is the enemy of peace. Accountability is essential to preventing atrocities from taking place in the future."

This article was published a few days after the United States, together with another non-State Party, Rwanda, faced issues directly linked to the International Criminal Court in Kigali. On March 18, 2013, Bosco Ntaganda, who is subject to two ICC arrest warrants and accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), presented himself at the American Embassy in Kigali and stated that he wanted to surrender to the ICC. A few days after, Ntaganda was transferred to The Hague.

These are just a few examples of how much the ICC depends on the assistance and support not only from States' Parties to the Rome Statute, but also from non-States Parties and the broader international community for the sake of justice and accountability for atrocity crimes.

The way the Court has been operating since its establishment in 2002 has clearly shown the strengths and weaknesses of the Rome Statute as put in place in 1998. It is a court of last resort ready to step in if everything else fails, and over the past ten years it has gained wide recognition for its work. At the same time the Rome Statute system is lacking enforcement mechanisms in cases of a refusal to cooperate.

The Court certainly depends on continued assistance and support, at all levels and from different international actors. But not only that: States also should assist each other in strengthening domestic capacity to ensure that investigations and prosecutions of serious crimes of international concern can take place at the national level. As the Preamble of the Rome Statute reads, it is the "duty of every State to exercise its criminal jurisdiction over those responsible for international crimes.

As it stands now, in 2013, concerted efforts are still needed to ensure that domestic capacity to investigate and prosecute international crimes becomes a practical reality.

Jamie Krauss Hess: The 5 Biggest Changes You'll Find in Fire Island Pines This Summer

Get Gay Voices Alerts: Sign Up

It's that time of year again: time to buff up, bare all and hit the beach. Any good gay knows that Fire Island, specifically the Pines region, is one of the most beautiful, historic and hedonistic summer destinations in the world. You may also know that the Pines had it rough over the past couple of years. A devastating fire leveled the beloved Pavilion nightclub in 2011, and Hurricane Sandy took its toll in 2012. But much like the resilient population that inhabits its shores, the Pines won't be quieted. In the face of adversity, it rises up stronger than before. And how could it not? This year marks the Pines' 60th anniversary. Here are five things that will make summer 2013 in the Pines the best one ever... and why you'll want to be there to experience it.

Loading Slideshow...

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, so goes the Pavilion. Finally rebuilt after the fire that demolished it two years ago, the space was reimagined by the acclaimed design firm Hollwich Kushner (HWKN). The resurrected venue includes a first-floor Welcome Bar and a second floor that boasts a 2,760-square-foot terrace outside and a 2,000-square-foot dance floor inside. "We designed the new Pavilion around the Fire Island community," says Matthias Hollwich, co-founder of HWKN. "The building forms intimate spaces out of a single volume." Hollwich adds, "Aside from designing a building with personality, our primary focus was to recreate the social engine that was so unique to the famed Pavilion of the '90s."

Legendary New York promoter Tony Fornabaio has signed on as Entertainment Director, promising to bring back the true "sound of the Pines." Once known for its cutting-edge music, the Pines was the birthplace of a unique set of sexy, sultry sounds -- a special brand of beachy house and nuevo disco. "We're looking to recapture the unique sound the island used to have," explains Fornabaio. "Musically, the island has moved away from what it used to be. It's become reliant on pop music. While there is nothing wrong with pop, it is our intention to bring back that memorable, soulful sound that Fire Island is known for." Just what does this mean? Take a look at the opening-weekend lineup. With disco legends like Robbie Leslie and Michael Fierman commanding the DJ booth, the dance floor is sure to be awash in that sexy Fire Island vibe. Nostalgia not your thing? Don't worry. Eddie Elias and Tony Moran are on hand Saturday night to deliver their special brand of beats, treats and hard-hitting circuit sounds. (Photo courtesy of the Fire Island Pines Historical Preservation Society)

Let's face it: Sometimes the Pines gets a bad rap. People think it's all about partying, hot guys and... ahem... you know what. True, the Pines vacationer traditionally likes to get his drink on, and there's nothing wrong with a little cruising during High Tea. But this summer, the Pines will up the cultural ante with an elevated roster of interesting, innovative programming and an infusion of visual and performance art. When the Pavilion is not busy pumping out beats from its state-of-the-art sound system, it will play host to variety shows (comedians, drag shows, vaudeville and burlesque), as well as the return of the popular "Boardwalk Talks" series, which, last year, offered discussions with the likes of Larry Kramer. Ben Rimalower is performing his one-man show Patti Issues throughout the summer, Haus of Mimosa will bring a hilarious review unlike anything you've ever seen, and the infamous Candis Cayne will be back in the Pines frequently, bringing her trademark glamor and pizazz. Art will be another main focus this summer, appearing in ways Pinesgoers have never experienced. Matthew Blesso (CEO of Blesso Properties, the managing owner of the Pines) is known for infusing art into everything he does (take a look at his Tantalo Hotel in Panama City) and has planned for a major art infusion to run throughout the commercial district. Dotting the landscape will be sculptures, murals and temporary installations curated from a global portfolio of artists. Be prepared for an exciting upgrade with this forward-thinking aesthetic. Trust us, this ain't your granddaddy's Pines experience!

Because between all the partying, you are on vacation, after all! General Manager Constantino Papadakis promises a fully upgraded, unmatched hospitality experience for residents, guests and daytrip visitors alike. "Fire Island is a magical getaway for people, and we want to make sure that every person who steps off the ferry is made to feel welcome and accommodated," he explains. "Bartenders that are smiling and friendly, highly trained wait staff and a management team that helps people navigate the intricate ins and outs of the island -- this finely tuned staff will be in place, and available to our guests like never before." The food and beverage experience has changed too, with the introduction of all-new menus at the Canteen and Blue Whale that include organic and gluten-free options. The wine selection is all locally sourced from wineries in upstate New York and Long Island, and master mixologiest Sean Labbe (Top of the Standard, aka the "Boom Boom Room") will ensure that drinks at the Pool Deck, the Pavilion and the Blue Whale and the smoothies at the Muscle Bar are all over-the-top creative. As if you needed another reason to get tipsy.

In the midst of sunny, beachy days and wild, salacious nights, it's nice to also feel that you've done something good for humanity and the environment. The Pines has got you covered. Blesso has enacted a sustainability plan for summer 2013 that has never been attempted in the Pines. In addition to composting food for fertilizer and introducing an updated recycling program, they acquired all "green" materials for food and beverage service, including sourcing biodegradable materials for the 200,000-plus cups used for serving booze (yes, folks, that's how many drinks you go through in a summer!). Charitable efforts abound all summer long, kicked off by the Worldwide Orphans fundraiser in July, which will be hosted by Rosie O'Donnell. Papadakis is also cultivating a wide range of charitable partnerships, including the launch of the HERO program, which will offer discounts to public safety service personnel, such as members of the military, law enforcement and firefighters.

Business Card Advice

My main concern here is coming up with something other than 'Website Designer' as that is only one small aspect of what I do. I dont want it to feel so limited.

'Website Developer' makes it sound like im just a programmer.

Are there any more general terms that you think would work great and still keep the card very simple?

WHERE: A Few of Our Favorite Breweries

To the brewers, those of you who end your days with grain chaff in your cuffs, whose entire existence has a yeasty odor and who labor in a world of chilled stainless steel vessels, we writers and editors at Where want to thank you for brewing the malt, for double hopping the IPA and for making the bitter extra special. In honor of Craft Brew Week, we raise our beer glass to you -- a glass filled with a frothy ale you provided us. And in honor of you, our Where editors from around the world would like to thank the people behind some of our favorite craft breweries. Travelers, if you're in these cities and need some suds, consider these well-brewed destinations for a flavorful pint of repose.

508 GastroBrewery, New York, N.Y.

2013-05-17-ChrisCuzme508brewer.jpg

This charming brewpub marries the rustic Mediterranean-American dishes from chef and owner Jennifer Hill, with an in-house brewing program from Chris Cuzme that is garnering positive reviews from patrons and critics alike. Cuzme’s love of beer led him to help organize NY Craft Beer Week with Josh Schaffner, held earlier this year. At the pub, the warm room, with communal tables, muted, mottled walls and ubiquitous candles, encourages flirtatious conversation over a Colonial Nugget Stout, Beauty Booty Blond Ale, Spraytan (the unpale ale) or Hamber Smoked Amber Ale.

Black Acre Brewing Company, Indianapolis, Ind.

2013-05-17-blackacre.jpg

Nestled in the Irvington neighborhood, on Indy's east side, Black Acre has come roaring onto the local brew scene. Recent offerings on tap include Street Lamp Blonde, Goat Race Maibock, Saucy Intruder, a hefty 9.3 percent ABV tripel, along with nearly a dozen guest taps showcasing craft offerings from around the country. Add in a small-but-mighty menu with an extreme locavore focus (ham, capocollo, pastrami and other meats from Smoking Goose, baked good from Roll With It Bakery, house-cut fries and sweet potato fries), and you've got all the makings of a good, long visit.
5632 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Ind., 317.207.6266

The Boston Beer Company, Boston, Mass.

2013-05-17-SamuelAdamsBostonBreweryBrewHouse.jpg

Back in 1985, Jim Koch debuted his first beer, and in doing so, fermented the modern, American craft beer movement. Today, Koch’s acclaimed original Samuel Adams Boston Lager remains a full-bodied favorite, as do other familiar flavors like Cherry Wheat, Noble Pils, Whitewater IPA and Cream Stout. Visitors can tour the flagship Samuel Adams Boston Brewery located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood and then sample a few of Boston Beer Company’s more than 50 beers on every day but Sunday.

Cigar City Brewing, Tampa, Fla.

2013-05-17-CigarCityTapRoom.jpg

This rustic brewery is home to some well-known beers that have hit the craft beer shelves in the United States such as Jai Alai and Florida Cracker. Their tasting room is home to all the beers they brew and offers pints starting at $5. A tour of their 6,600 square feet of brewing space will leave you more knowledgeable on Tampa Bay’s brewing history all thanks to their passionate staff. Cigar City Brewing often hosts weekend food truck roundups so you can pair your brew with some delicious grub. Check their online calendar for weekend events.

DC Brau, Washington, D.C.

2013-05-17-DC_BRAUKatieKnorovsky.jpg

In 2011, Brandon Skall and Jeff Hancock opened D.C.’s first distribution brewery in 60-plus years. The drafts and cans premiered to huge crowds at Meridian Pint. And soon scores of other bars and restaurants served The Corruption, The Citizen and The Public, the last an American pale ale described as “a beautiful abundance of hops” with “tawny hues of caramel and amber.” Now beer lovers also go directly to the source. The brewery, brightened with quirky art like Pixel Pancho’s “Robot Reindeer,” opens for free tours and tastings most Saturdays from noon to 4 pm and fills growlers to go.

Deep Ellum Brewing Co., Dallas, Texas

2013-05-17-DallasDeepEllumBrewingCo.photocreditTaitLiftocopy.JPG

The brewmasters of DEBC are a little obsessed. Just one read through their “Beerfesto” and it’s obvious these guys have an addiction to high-quality, craft-brewed beer. Head to their brewery in the heart of Dallas’ music district for a tasting tour on a Thursday or Saturday, with a wide range of year-round, seasonal and small-batch lagers, IPAs, ales, porters and more to choose from. Or stop in during one of the tasting dinners or special weekend events for food, live music and lots of beer-sipping.

Guinness Storehouse, Dublin, Ireland

2013-05-17-CORNERSHOT.jpg

Ireland’s most famous export (in addition to U2) is celebrated in this huge venue, once the site of where the mighty Guinness stout was brewed. It was founded by Arthur Guinness in 1759, and stands very close to his former family home. Inside the storehouse, you can see the World Of Guinness exhibition, which includes fascinating adverts from over the decades, plus explanations of how the world-famous pint is created. The highlight (literally) is the breathtaking glass-enclosed Gravity Bar on the top floor, almost 200 feet above ground, where you can enjoy a pint of the black stuff, included in your ticket price.

Goose Island Brewpub, Chicago, Ill.

2013-05-17-GooseIsland312Bottle.jpg

Before it was snatched up by Anheuser-Busch in 2010, Goose Island Brewpub fueled its own local buzz thanks to its quality craft beers. With two brewpubs, one in the bustling, hip Lincoln Park neighborhood, the other within sight of Wrigley Field, the brand is now delivering beers to all 50 states and in Europe. See where it all began 25 years ago by touring the original Clybourn brewery. With a Goose Island brewer leading the way, you’ll get to try six current beer selections, or if you’re on the lookout for the next great brew, stop by on Thursday nights, for a tap and taste of the weekly premiering beer. Their summer brew, 312, is slightly hoppy, fruity and smooth; the Green Line Pale Ale is exclusive to Chicago.

Heist Brewery, Charlotte, N.C.

2013-05-17-Heist7.jpg

This newcomer to the Queen City’s burgeoning craft-brewing scene is already a local favorite. The brewpub is housed in a historic textile mill in the North Davidson Arts District (that’s “NoDa” to locals) and is loved not only for its tasty craft options like hefeweizen and oatmeal stout but its industrial interior. The inventive menu offers up both hardy and healthy options from salads to burgers and flatbreads, but you won’t want to miss the oven-roasted beer cheese—perfectly paired with pretzel sticks.

Maui Brewing Company, Maui, Hawaii

2013-05-17-MauiBrewingCompany.jpg

Cherries, lilikoi and papaya seeds may be common ingredients found in a Hawaiian chef’s pantry, and now they’re also starting to show up on labels at Maui Brewing Company. Since 2005, Garrett Marrero has been on a mission to create lagers and ales that are distinctly different from the Millers and Budweisers. Embracing the craft beer culture, Marrero and his spouse Melanie first took over what was once the Fish & Game Brewing Company & Rotisserie and turned it into a seven-barrel brew pub with more than 20 beers on tap, including Bikini Blonde, Coconut Porter and Big Swell IPA. Tours: Friday: 3, 3:30 and 4 pm; Saturday: 10:30 and 11:30 am; and 12:30 pm. Private tours are available for groups of 10 or more during tasting room hours (Tue-Fri: noon to 5 pm; and Saturday: 10 am to 2 pm).

NOLA Brewing Company, New Orleans, La.

2013-05-17-nolabrewingco.jpg

Beer has a long and heady history in the Crescent City, dating to the mid 1800s and owing to the large number of Germans who settled here. At one time, 10 breweries operated within the city limits. Today there’s just one: NOLA Brewing Company. In addition to its signature lagers and ales (NOLA Blonde, NOLA Brown Hopitoulas, 7th Street Wheat), the craft brewery also produces seasonal offerings, such as its fittingly named summer release, Hurricane Saison. Sample a pint fresh from the tap during the brewery’s free weekly tours and tastings, each Friday from 2 to 3:30 pm.
3001 Tchoupitoulas St., New Orleans, La., 504.896.9996

Sweetwater Brewing Company, Atlanta, GA

2013-05-17-CurrentBrewery.jpg

Founded by college roommates Freddy Bensch and Kevin McNerney in 1997, Sweetwater is now the 24th largest craft brewery in the nation. Specializing in aggressive West Coast style beers, the brewery’s award-winning lineup includes SweetWater 420, IPA, Exodus Porter, Blue, LowRYEder IPA and Georgia Brown, plus specialty and seasonal beers throughout the year. Taste it for yourself during fun (and very social) tours of the brewery, which are offered Wednesday through Saturday (Sunday tours are available beginning June 2).

They call it "beer divergency," which is a high-falutin' way of saying they learned the rules of brewing inside and out ... so they could know best how to break them. The renegades at UCBC produce side-by-side lineups in their "Revolution" (artisanal, craft upstarts) and "Reverence" (homage to heritage-brewed classics) series. The handsome tasting room is a convivial place to sit and practice your pronunciation of "Zwickel" and "Wolpertinger" ... but you can also just point and smile. Great small bites and a charming, twinkle-lit patio make this a must-visit.

Tucked away but worth a tasty trip, Westbrook Brewery is known in the Lowcountry for its White Thai and IPA, as well as rotating seasonals and one-time specials -- like Weisse Weisse Baby, Vanilla Tree Dubbel and Mexican Cake. It all started with homebrewing: Morgan Westbrook’s family had a history with beer, her husband had a great chef’s palate, and after seven years of brewing to friends’ rave reviews, the pair decided to “start a brewery or just stop talking about it.” Get a sample sip on tap in the tasting room, or take a bottle, can or growler to go.

This newcomer to Asheville’s hops scene has already made a name for itself. While best known for its saisons and IPAs, you’ll also find unique tastes like bourbon-barrel-aged porters and stouts. Upstairs is a high-quality brew pub restaurant which is often packed thanks to its downtown location; downstairs is all about the brews, served in a rustic-industrial tasting room. If it's nice out, take your pint outside to one of their two patios. The name? That comes from a King Henry VIII quote: “Hops are a wicked and pernicious weed.”

After years of home brewing, one-time Bridgestone tire engineer Linus Hall and his wife, Lila, decided it was high-time to open their own brewery. So Linus quit his job, got a business degree from Vanderbilt, a craft brewing education at the American Brewers Guild and some hands-on experience at Brooklyn Brewery English. Now the microbrewery offers eight British, Irish and Scottish-style ales, stouts, porters and wheats to choose from including Gerst Amber Ale, created in partnership with Nashville’s original brewery, Gerst Brewery. The taproom is open Wednesday through Saturday, or take a brewery tour on Saturday.

a tracelog that bridges across setTimeout(), setInterval(), callbacks, recursive functions - done

My javascript framework does a lot of things asynchronously, and is designed to process at the same time multiple user requests for calculations on sometimes large datasets (delivered always in JSON in my case).

I was facing the problem (time and time again) that I could not keep track of which "userAction" (page load, click somewhere, hover over something, etc) was responsible for any given still-buggy function's execution in the debugger, due to the fact that "the default javascript engine configuration" (on all browsers) just drops or corrupts the call stack information (yes, even the one in arguments.callee.caller[recursive]).

Took me a while, but the solution in the end is ridicilously simple fortunately.

How to improve quality score in Adword campaign.

Hi Nevedita,

Yes, you can try the option given by Tim Green. Apart from it, you can also look into other no. of reasons affecting the quality scores (QS)

AdRank = Max. CPC x Quality Score

Actual CPC = (AdRank of the position below/Quality Score) + $.01

Relevance of-
keyword to the ad copy
keyword to the landing page copy
ad text to the landing page copy
and Historical click-through rate

So improved relevance results
- More clicks at lower CPC- More conversions at lower CPA- Higher ROI
Hope this helps.

Troy Roness: Pushing Back for Individuality

Get Healthy Living Alerts: Sign Up

I'd like to believe that even though I speak and write publicly about my eating disorder, my advocacy and my personal struggles, when it comes to "real-life" experiences and day-to-day interactions, I am a very private person. This fact is difficult for my personal acquaintances to fathom, but that doesn't make being private a fault.

Life is not about keeping secrets, but it is not about telling everything to everyone else, either. I guess I have never felt comfortable shouting to the world the nitty-gritty details of my life. Much of it is no one's business anyway. Being so open all the time leaves you vulnerable to negative emotions in the end, in my opinion.

Being a private person is a positive trait that is underappreciated in a noisy world. Our culture is obsessed with sharing our lives all the time. Society tends to uplift the loudest out there, and if you are being talked about, then you are on top. People constantly compete to be seen and heard. What a load of garbage.

Making the most of your time and efforts, whether public or private, can seem daunting when you don't even know who you are. I've muddled through that question time and again, and I know exactly where things lie for me. Being male, having an eating disorder, being Christian, having conservative views and being a sexual minority tend to make audiences question why I stand where I do and where my reasoning comes from.

For example, in the past six months I've heard, overheard, read and been told plenty of things regarding my personal life:

"You are nothing but a facade."

"You don't date much, and you need to have a better sex life. You are a very lonely person."

"You are so hard to love (platonically)."

"You concern and confuse people, and you never communicate what is going on in your life."

Not to mention finding out that a very immature individual I'd previously dated had publicly communicated with others about me. That just takes the cake.

Now, not only did I massively overhaul the sorts of people I surround myself with, but, more importantly, I adopted a completely different approach to how I view myself. I found out that my biggest adversary was me. Life lessons, therapy and all that jazz have taught me one thing: I will never need someone or something to make me complete, even if society tries to tell me otherwise.

Unfortunately, in today's world, self-acceptance is largely determined by how we feel we are viewed by those around us whom we deem important. Just as I subconsciously let events and thoughts give rise to the eating disorder that I've battled for far too long, allowing myself to die slowly because of my own thoughts and because someone else's feelings didn't match my own, I've found that I was still allowing the other's influence to dictate my own outlook.

To build healthy individuality, we must undertake the task of understanding ourselves and our feelings. This involves appreciating the not-so-simple act of self-disclosure. For us to truly understand ourselves, and to stop being concerned about others' opinions of us, we ought to be able to disclose what our true beliefs are. After all, allowing an influence that is fundamentally ingrained inside us is detrimental to our well-being.

When we candidly admit to ourselves that we aren't perfect but are all we've got, we can begin to benefit from a finely tuned self-acceptance. Getting rid of people we've surrounded ourselves with may be the hardest thing we try to do, but consider the cost of preserving their presence in our lives. Our attention, polluted with hurt, is not only counterproductive but dangerous given the wrong person and situation.

Letting go can be extremely helpful, and I cannot emphasize enough that this process is just that: a process. It cannot be done overnight. Working on and coming to terms with who we are doesn't have a timeline.

It is impossible to please everyone. Do your best to accept that and make yourself a priority. Remember, you aren't responsible for anyone else's expectations. Knowing yourself (and the world around you) is one of the hardest things in the world to figure out. The beginning of wisdom happens when we are honest with ourselves. I've always believed that life's events happen for a reason, and all through my journey I've found that hardships definitely enhance the strength to hold on.

Need help with site - looking for a new site admin, help fixing busted site

Honestly, we know nothing about web dev. I couldn't even say I know how to access the logs.

The busted images - they are loaded onto Amazon S3, they worked properly, and then completely randomly they stopped. That's the problem. We've had this happen a couple times where images we've uploaded just stop working randomly, even though they worked for days/weeks/months previously. We did just recently switch servers, but these are all ones that have been loaded on Amazon S3 and are giving us fits there after they've been on there for days.

I wish I could help you more with details. I truly don't have any insight into the whys and wherefores. We're looking for someone to go under the hood and maybe provide insight into what is broken and how much it might cost to fix it.

Frank A. Weil: The Secret of Staying Married

Frank A. Weil
Chairman, Abacus & Associates, Inc.

Get Weddings Alerts: Sign Up

A recent conversation about two friends who were enjoying a super second marriage with a bevy of nice kids and grands led to a bit of speculation about later marriage, divorce and why long marriages are going the way of dinosaurs.

The first point made was that second marriages often fail for the same reason that the first one failed, meaning the spouse (and this, of course, works both ways) marries again more or less the same person he/she married the first time. And although hope trumps experience in affairs of the heart, it's hardly surprising that these "do-over" marriages (and "double do-overs!") beget the same problems that doomed the original.

Then the conversation turned to what had enabled the two people talking to have between them 122 years of marriage. It was noted that in some cultures it had been acceptable and customary to actually have three marriages for the three basic stages in married life.

Stage one is romantic -- perhaps mainly driven by sex.

Stage two is purposeful -- focused on creating and raising promising human beings.

Stage three is practical -- focused on common interests and simple friendship.

Of course, not all male/female married couples have children. And, there also obviously is a quite wide spectrum of intensity and lasting importance of the sex element. And, many marriages have survived despite a near dearth of common interests and pure friendship but most marriages need that to get through the first two stages.

We agreed that if a marriage begins in shared interests and friendship, as well as those other desirable elements, it has a much better chance of lasting through all three stages. Aside from well-known marriages of convenience and necessity, little information is available to indicate what factors drive the decision to marry in the first place.

In today's world many more marriages begin a lot later than in the era of the two in the conversation. That suggests that more marriages may be prompted by the priorities of the second stage, when children enter the picture (and hopefully after the two people have discovered both common interests and pure friendship). People of a certain age would cite the "looser mores" of contemporary society as diminishing the importance of the first stage, which in any event may be going away, almost entirely.

What was common to the two long single marriages was the belief that both had moved seamlessly through all three stages, coupled with a belief that the temptations inevitable during a long-term relationship were not attractive enough to warrant change.

So what, if any value, is there in these observations?

One, more research on the subject might shed more light on what is really going on out there and why.

Two, whatever research may reveal, and whatever value that might add to modern society, it certainly cannot hurt to share this kind of common sense with ones' grandchildren and great grandchildren!

For better or for worse!

What do you think of DP's pricing for designs?

Dear all DP members.

I have to say this. Design works in this forum are priced ridiculously. Not only for logo, but others as well. It is way below market price.

Not only way below, its killing. Maybe some of you are doing this as a profitable hobby so you wouldn't mind a bit, but we as designers should stand tall and firm to let the clients know that our creativity isn't that cheap.

For those who are willing to do it for $5, are you serious? You are killing your fellowship as well. Yeah, maybe there are other forums like this offering higher prices, but before I jump, I would really love to spread this thing out first.

A sensible pricing (at minimum) in my opinion is this — mind you, this is cheap enough;
$50 and above for logos.$20 to $100 for artworks and branding.$150 and above for web design (HTML & CSS only).$10 and above for other minor graphical works.And maybe DP should set some ethics & rules to our clients so that the contest is treated fairly. Plagiarism is everywhere. Here's my take;
No specific feedback. Contestants should try harder.Clients should lock thread after closing date.Option to blind entries.and more....Hopefully DP admin will read this and in the meantime, you got some penny to share?

Tim_Arnold: The Real Weapons of Mass Destruction: America's 300 Million Guns

Get Politics Alerts: Sign Up

On 9/11, Islam jihadists turned four U.S. airlines into weapons of mass destruction and killed almost 3,000 people. Within a month the George W. Bush administration had convinced themselves, and much of America, that Iraq, while not the source of the 9/11 attacks, nevertheless was holding "weapons of mass destruction" intended for America, and he launched the United States' first unprovoked war against a foreign nation in our history. Within weeks his administration established the Patriot Act, giving his government wide-ranging powers to search records and conduct roving wiretaps (parts of which were recently extended under the Obama Administration).

Since then, trillions upon trillions of dollars have been spent on "counter-terrorism" efforts. An alphabet soup of governmental agencies have come (TSA, DNI, DHS, NCTC, CVE, NSI, ICE, NCC) and gone (TTIC, INS). NSA, the government's eavesdropping agency, is building a $2 billion facility in Utah capable of capturing trillions of emails, web searches and business transactions. A second, similar unit is to be built in San Antonio. Our defense budget has doubled in the last decade. And our government now deploys more tools than ever to monitor its citizens -- to prevent another attack.

U.S. air travelers are subjected to heightened security scrutiny -- required to remove belts, hats, jackets; discard water bottles; gather remaining 3-ounces-or-less containers of liquid into separate bags for screening; random full-body scans; required to place computers, cell phones, Kindles and iPads in separate trays, et al. A failed shoe bomber prompted an additional requirement to remove our shoes, pre-screening. It's a wonder the failed underwear bomber didn't provoke further scrutiny, because some of this has reached ridiculous stages: In Florida a couple of years ago, a gravely ill, 95-year-old woman was forced to remove her wet diaper before she could pass security.

Airplanes have been fitted with hardened, more secure cockpit doors. Thousands of air marshals are now assigned to random flights to guard against terrorists who might somehow manage to get through all of this intensified screening. The no-fly list has expanded exponentially; public buildings now have sign-in requirements and require deliveries to be left at the lobby desk; our borders have been made more secure; federal funds were set aside to enable the number of border patrol personnel to be tripled.

As a result of all of these pro-active measures, or in spite of it all, only four people have been killed by terrorists on U.S. soil since 9/11 -- the recent Boston Marathon victims. That same day, 11 Americans were murdered by guns. And by the time the manhunt for the Boston Marathon terrorists ended, 38 more Americans had died by gunfire. Not to minimize these unfortunate deaths, but according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, more Americans will be crushed to death by falling televisions and furniture this year than die at the hand of terrorists

In the same span of time since 9/11, over 300,000 people have died in America as a result of gunfire: 300,000 versus four.

And yet not one single action has been taken in that same time to address gun violence in America.

What's wrong with this picture? Everything.

Despite the fact that fully one-half of all U.S. deaths by guns are suicide, our Congress recently failed to pass a modest background check law -- a procedure that could conceivably help identify potential victims. A recent New Hampshire study showed that nearly 10 percent of gun-related suicides in that state were committed with a gun purchased within a week of the suicide -- and yet our Congress refuses to consider a minimum waiting period to purchase a gun.

Despite the near-rabid claims of second amendment rights to own a gun -- for the purposes of self defense -- "a gun in the home a gun in the home is 22 times more likely to be used to kill or injure in a domestic homicide, suicide, or unintentional shooting than to be used in self-defense. Most unintentional shooting deaths occur in the home (65 percent), based on data from 16 states. The most common context of the death (30 percent) was playing with the gun. According to USA Today, "in 2011, 14,675 people were wounded in an unintentional shooting but survived."

Enforce current laws? About 58 percent of federally licensed firearms dealers have not been inspected by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the past five years, according to a report from the Justice Department's Office of Inspector General.

The number of U.S. gun dealers has increased by 16 percent since 2004 -- and now number a staggering 130,000 as of Aug. 1. No wonder. Gun sales are skyrocketing. ABC News notes: "According to ATF reports, in 2010 there were 5,459,240 new firearms manufactured in the United States, nearly all (95 percent) for the U.S. market. An additional 3,252,404 firearms were imported to the United States. That's nearly 8.5 million new firearms on the street in one year."

This is particularly true of the AR-15 -- the most popular gun in the United States, with an estimated four million of them in the hands of U.S. gun owners. A genuine weapon of mass destruction designed for one purpose: to inflict mass casualties. And yet Congress allowed the assault weapons ban to expire and shows no interest in reinstating it.

Not one single action to address the gun violence in America, Not one.

Here's a thought: Let's label gun deaths in America for what they really are -- domestic terrorism. And then let's address reasonable, constitutional, democratic measures to exercise some minimum restrictions on their sale.

300,000 versus four. No contest.

GalTime: The Boston Bomber: Why Do Some Teens Seem Obsessed?

Get Parents Alerts: Sign Up

By Jennifer A. Powell-Lunder, Psy. D. for GalTime.com

2013-05-17-Screenshot20130515at8.12.24AM.png

It is hard to understand how Boston bomber suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev could go from terrorist to teen heartthrob. Let's start by clarifying that teens obsessed with him are the exception not the rule. That being said, anyone who could emulate this young man is seemingly disturbing. So why have some teens taken to social networking channels with #freejahar? (Wrong spelling, but we get the point.) Take a look on Instagram and Tumblr, and you'll find photo collages starring the 19-year-old, that he is too cute to have committed such atrocities. Also, the hashtag #freejahar is heating up.

2013-05-17-freejahar2.png2013-05-17-ferejahar3_0.png

In reality, this type of obsession is not new. When serial killer Ted Bundy was arrested a similar phenomenon occurred. Those obsessive teens, however, lacked the social networking sites of today that provide a collective forum.

So why have some teens become love struck by such a dangerous young man?

2013-05-17-Screenshot20130515at8.13.03AM.png2013-05-17-Screenshot20130515at8.13.46AM.png

Tsarnaev's college friends report being shocked by his actions. Most of them describe him as as a regular guy. His boyish grin and tussled hair are a far cry from what we would expect a dangerous terrorist to resemble. The picture most of us conjur up is more akin to the Unibomber or Osama Bin Laden, both of whom at least looked the part. To accept that Tsarnaev is as dangerous and cold-blooded as his alleged crimes suggest is to acknowledge that the face of evil is not so easy to detect. This is certainly a somewhat scary -- perhaps intolerable -- reality for us to wrestle with.

Adolescents are egocentric by nature. This factor very much plays into why a teen might fail to acknowledge the facts in this case. In the search for identity, teens are naturally looking for ways to define themselves. The teen years are also a time when the ability to think abstractly results in an "eyes wide open" attitude. Teens begin to truly see the world around them. The teen years are often about passion and fighting for causes. Egocentrism can cause teens to believe that they know better than the authority figures who surround them.

The idea that this young man is a victim could seem edgy and innovative to some teens. He looks more like a scruffy college kid than a threat to national security. This can lead some teens to ponder: What if everyone has got it wrong; what if instead he is an innocent victim? This fantasy is easy for a teen to envision. This idea becomes more plausible the more disconnected a teen is from the actual occurrences in Boston. If, for example, a teen does not have any direct connection to the events, it is less likely that she will experience the emotions associated with it.

So the question then becomes, what should a parent do if their teen has jumped onto this disturbing bandwagon? Certainly it begins with a conversation. Teens want to be heard and they want to feel empowered. It is important to listen to a teen's opinions and rationale, even when what she is saying sounds irrational. After hearing her out discuss the facts of the situation including the impact the bombings have had on the innocent people affected. Empathy is a powerful motivator. Even armed with the facts however, some teens will fail to acknowledge the reality.

This is difficult to understand, perhaps even devastating. Years from now it is likely that these teens will back and regret their disturbing defense of the Boston bombing suspect.

Perhaps the best we can do right now is to avoid feeding into this distorted fantasy. It is important not to repost their disturbing messages even though the macabre tends to fascinate us. Without a real forum it is likely that most teens will move forward and forget about this idea. The few diehards will be left to pine for this sinister suspect alone, until they move onto the next distorted object of desire. Jane Fonda is still making apologies for her photo op with the Viet Cong in 1974, it seems that some foolish fancies are not quickly forgotten.

All photos are from Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.

Michelle Brané: Women Are a Critical Part of Immigration Reform: Let's Include Them This Time

Get Politics Alerts: Sign Up

By Michelle Brané and Emily Butera

On April 17, we at the Women's Refugee Commission (WRC) welcomed the introduction of S. 744, the "Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013." For those of us who are veterans of the immigration reform efforts of 2006 and 2007, this day marked a long-awaited return to a serious national conversation about our immigration system. But April 17 also represented a major step forward for the protection of immigrant women's rights -- something we at the WRC have been working towards for more than 15 years.

As we began to analyze the contents of the bill, it became clear that our efforts to bring policymakers the message that immigration reform is not comprehensive unless it includes women had begun to sink in. For the first time in the modern history of immigration reform efforts, the "Gang of Eight" senators who drafted the legislation took seriously the need to think about the lives and experiences of immigrant women and their families, and to make sure that the contributions that immigrant women have made to this country were acknowledged and honored with an equitable and inclusive path to citizenship.

S. 744 marked a turning point in the fight for immigrant women's rights. But the bill is not perfect. And amendments introduced by several members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to drastically narrow eligibility for legalization -- and ultimately citizenship -- would have a disproportionately detrimental effect on women. As the bill moves through committee and onto the Senate floor, the rights and well-being of immigrant women will depend on Senators keeping women -- and women's realities -- in mind.

The face of today's immigrant is increasingly female: Immigrant women comprise 51 percent of all immigrants in the United States and 100 immigrant women now arrive in the United States for every 96 men. More than five million women in the United States are undocumented. Legalization programs that discourage or prevent women from participating have not been -- and never will be -- effective.

Immigrant women's contributions are different than but equal to men's: Forty percent of undocumented women work in the home, caring for their children and families. Sixty percent of immigrant women work in the informal economy, where work is often temporary or unverifiable. Any legalization program that requires continuous employment or limits the documents that suffice as proof of employment will leave women out. In a survey of over 4,000 low-wage workers in the three largest cities in the U.S. -- New York, Chicago and Los Angeles -- 98 percent of undocumented nannies, 92 percent of maids and house cleaners, and 77 percent of garment workers did not receive any pay stubs. In isolated and informal workplaces it is unrealistic to expect workers to ask their employers for documentation, especially immigrant workers with such little control over the terms and conditions of their work in the first place.

To be able to legalize and get on a pathway to citizenship, women must have a fair and appropriate way to prove their physical presence, employment history and contributions: Historically, women have been disadvantaged by legalization programs in immigration reform. A comprehensive study of the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) by the Urban Institute and Rand Corporation found that women faced significant difficulty proving physical presence and meeting requirements for legalization because 1) important documents such as leases, utility bills and bank accounts were in their husbands' names and 2) many women who worked in the informal economy struggled to prove employment. Adding to these challenges, the historical devaluing of women's work as homemakers meant that IRCA left many women behind.

S. 744 provides more opportunities for women to legalize and get on a pathway to citizenship than any prior effort at reform. But these provisions must be protected and improved: Exemptions and waivers to employment requirements for those who can demonstrate sufficient income or resources, are pregnant, on maternity leave or are primary caregivers for children will help ensure that women can renew their Registered Provisional Immigrant (RPI) status (the first step in the legalization process) and eventually earn green cards and full citizenship. Similarly, provisions that allow workers to use day labor center records and sworn affidavits to prove employment help ensure that women who work in the informal economy will not be excluded from legalization and citizenship simply because they cannot provide proof of work. Lastly, in awarding caregivers the same number of points as master's degree holders, the new merit-based visa provisions will help ensure that work as a homemaker is not an impediment to permanency.

Legalization and the pathway to citizenship will still be harder for women than men: High fees and penalties will disproportionately disadvantage women and limit their ability to apply to achieve full citizenship because when difficult financial choices have to be made, families are more likely to preference the male members of a household. Similarly, it will be difficult for many families to overcome the public charge or income and resources requirements to earn status -- even when both men and women in the household are working. In households where a woman stays home to care for children, it will be all but impossible. The 2011 deadline by which an individual must be physically present to apply for RPI status is already likely to exclude more women than men, since the number of women coming to the U.S. only recently equaled the number of men. Any further rollbacks of this date will make even more women ineligible. Lastly, the imbalance between points for care-giving and points for employment and education in the merit-based visa system risks leaving many women behind.

Amendments that limit eligibility for legalization and increase costs will undermine women's ability to get on a pathway to citizenship and will increase the likelihood that immigration reform will exclude many women. As advocates for women's rights, the Women's Refugee Commission is particularly concerned about amendments that would:

Bar anyone who was not in the U.S. before Dec. 31, 2009 from applying for RPI status, and bar spouses and children who entered the U.S. after 2011 from being included in the principal applicant's petition (Lee 7)Increase the penalty that must be paid to apply for RPI status to $5,000 (Grassley 7)Require individuals to maintain an income that is four times the federal poverty line (over $90,000 for a family of four) for all 10 years they are in RPI status in order to apply for permanent residence (Sessions 29)Raise the income requirement for RPI status renewal for those who cannot meet the employment eligibility requirement to 125 percent of the federal poverty line, and require that those whose eligibility depends on their income and resources maintain that income level throughout their 10 years in RPI status (Hatch 5)Eliminate a provision that allows workers to provide sworn affidavits instead of pay stubs to prove their work history (Grassley 13 and Lee 12)Make women ineligible for RPI status and permanent residence if they could become a public charge in the future (Sessions 17-19)Make women ineligible for RPI status or permanent residence if they are likely to need means-tested public benefits -- including Medicaid, Affordable Care Act tax credits, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Security Income -- in the future (Sessions 25-28)Eliminate a provision that would allow removed parents, spouses or children of U.S. citizens or permanent residents to apply for RPI status (Sessions 24)

Fortunately, in addition to the considerable work done by the Senate Gang of 8 to make the pathway to citizenship accessible to women, there other champions for immigrant women's rights among the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. They should be applauded for their efforts to preserve the bill's existing legalization provisions and to build upon them in the amendment process, including by:

Changing the date on which an individual has to be present in the U.S. to apply for RPI status from Dec. 31, 2011 to April 17, 2013 (Blumenthal 15) or to the date of enactment of the immigration law (Feinstein 14)Permitting individuals who apply for RPI status to petition for spouses and children who are outside the U.S., if they meet eligibility requirements (Hirono 14)Modifying the penalty paid in connection with an application for RPI status (Leahy 8) and permitting the penalty to be paid in installments (Hirono 12)

These amendments are only a sampling of the more than 50 amendments that would affect women's access to legalization. WRC's full vote guide on women and legalization is available on our website. If your senator is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, we urge you to call or email them and ask them to vote yes on amendments that strengthen protections for women and vote no on amendments that would leave women behind.

While we are only at the beginning of our fight for full inclusion of women in immigration reform, this is a fight we can win. We've come a long way already. As advocates for women's rights, we must continue to stand together and keep the pressure on Congress to recognize that reform will not be comprehensive -- or successful -- unless it includes women.

Jay Weston: Dudamel Announces Hollywood Bowl Program...and Its Eats!

Get Los Angeles Alerts: Sign Up

Hollywood Bowl schedule

I am certain that most of my Huffington readers know who Gustavo Dudamel is, but just in case you don't he is the 32-year Venezualan-born Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In the four years he has been here, he has revitalized the orchestra and brought it to even greater heights of achievement and excitement. Once you have seen this curly-haired wonder conduct the musical ensemble with all of his body (and hair) flying about, you will forever understand why the L.A. Phil is now considered one of the world's greatest orchestras. Much of the credit for this sustained success must also go to a woman named Debra Borda, who is the President of the organization. It was she who realized that bringing Gustavo to L.A. would revitalize the music scene here and was determined to win him from under the noses of larger and richer locations. She followed him from city to city, country to country, as he guest-conducted other orchestras....and finally wooed and won him for us. (The orchestra's charismatic chairman, David Bohnett, provided her with all the support - and money - she needed to make it happen.) This all flashed through my mind as I sat on the stage of the Hollywood Bowl last week as Dudamel and Borda announced the program for this summer's Hollywood Bowl season.

The fact that Joachim Spichal's PATINA RESTAURANT GROUP was also giving me tastes of many of the dishes available to Bowl patrons both in their restaurants there and in meals delivered to the boxes was a powerful incentive for me to be there. For many years I had a box for four on a classical music night at the Bowl, and as the food maven I was responsible for delivering the food. I would spend days shopping and cooking for my guests, finally wearying of that task when Joachim and his guys took over the catering operations 14 years ago and offered up delicious meals delivered to every boxholder. Each year they have enlarged and expanded upon the offerings until, this year, I realized that a trip to the Bowl can be as much for the food as for the music. I recently spent an evening exploring the 17 unique food outlets located in the historic performance venue. It came about when I had lunch with Joachim at his PINOT PROVENCE in the wonderful Costa Mesa shopping emporium, South Coast Plaza, and he invited me to tour the Bowl premises and see what they were offering. Wow, it was a revelation. I realized that they have captured the essence and excitement of the local culinary landscape with all their food places. Especially intriguing was the new full-service al fresco wine-and-tapas bar which was almost completed when I stopped by....it's perched above the main entrance to the box seats. Chef Joe Vasiloff from Ray's will be ensconced there, and he promised me a few interesting dishes if I came back...raw fluke, deviled quail eggs with smoked salmon roe, and skirt steak with warm bone marrow.

After entering the gates of the famed venue, you first see the Staccato pick-up window (where you can get 'eveything' fries, golden fried chicken, Thai chicken sausages, sushi, and HB veggie bowl options. Different picnic baskets are here for the hungry. You can proceed to the Rooftop Grill (where the tantalizing odor of mesquite-grilled meats will be incentive enough to order a juicy steak or slab of prime rib.) I asked to see some of the menu offerings for box seat holders...and saw some very enticing dishes...cacao-and-pepe pasta with roasted wild mushrooms, golden fried chicken, and platters of farmhouse cheeses and meats.

I had a chance to talk to Dudamel for a moment, and he said that he was very excited about conducting a performance of Verdi's AIDA on Sunday, August 11th. Oh, yes, I will be there...since it is one of my favorite operas, so majestic and romantic. (In my lifetime I have seen at least a dozen performances of that opera, from the ruined Roman gardens in Italy- with real elephants - to the Met in New York.) We both looked out in wonder at the empty Bowl, and I told him of coming here my first week in L.A. in the early '50s and paying a buck for a seat in the very last row.) He said that he was looking forward to being a guest on opening night, June 22nd, when Steve Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, while Patti Austin and John Legend will also perform. We marveled at the Tchaikovsky spectacle on Friday, August 16th and Saturday, the 17th, when the fireworks erupt over the shell. We looked at each other and laughed at how good life could be!

AdSense account got banned, reinstated! Nobody is safe out there

Ok, so I have been running Adsense for about two years now. Earnings are nothing really great to cherish about, but a $8-$12 a day is ok for me as a part time income without much effort and for doing what I love to do!

I have taken utmost care of my account in all respect. Always updated sites, always created good content, ensured non copyright violation etc etc etc.

But to my shock, on 1st of May 2013, my account got banned by Google. Surprisingly I received no mails from their side. It was when I checked it out with their enquery form after seeing no ads in my site, I came to know that it was for invalid click activity. I was utterly surprised and disgraced!.

When I check my analytic account , I saw the traffic was really very low for the week leading to the ban. I appealed against the ban and to be very honest with more than 200% surety that it is gone for ever.

But as we have several Apps in different app stores, I decided to use the sites for advertising about those apps and it was working out well till now. Revenue from app was compensating from Adsense loss. So there was not much economic concern.

However to my utter surprise, yesterday Google reinstated my account. I do knot know if I am lucky or stupid or whatever and how long will it remain. But interestingly after reinstating the account they reset the earning so far to zero. Yes whatever I was supposed to receive from Google was made zero.

For people who dreams of or plan to make a lifelong carrier out of adsense, please be aware and give this a second thought. It might happen to anybody, anytime and certainly without your knowledge and fault.

Probably I am lucky, probably they have considered my technical contribution or papers or tutorials, I never know. Thought would post it here to let you know that there are also cases where Google reinstate the account.

Craig Kanalley: Are These 'Rising Stars' the Future of Journalism? Yes -- Yes, They Are

Get Technology Alerts: Sign Up

If there's one thing I can tell you definitively about the future of journalism, it's that young people of the present will be the leaders of that future.

Those in college now, who have recently finished college, or maybe a few years out of college, they're the leaders of tomorrow. There are a lot of questions about what that future will look like, but these folks have the creativity, innovative mindset and smarts to take journalism to places it's never been before.

These are the Millennials. They grew up with computers, instant messaging on AIM, using Facebook in school, they're not afraid to communicate in GIFs or acronyms, and they're poised to do great things in the future. That's why they're worth watching. And that's why I thought I'd put together a list of them.

Thanks to some crowdsourcing help on Twitter and Facebook, here are more than 100 young people to watch in the social media and journalism space going forward. These people have bright futures ahead of them!

Did I miss someone great? Tweet me @ckanal and I can consider adding them.
